The Friends of the Botanic Gardens of Adelaide have been conducting tours for their members for many years. An example of the variety of activities The Friends have enjoyed over the years are as follows:

Day tours to mainly private gardens, not always open to the general public

  • Intrastate trips to Port Augusta, Roxby Downs and Andamooka, Kangaroo Island, Yorke Peninsula and Barossa Valley
  • Interstate tours to Tasmania, Victoria, Western Australia and New South Wales
  • Overseas trips to China, New Guinea, New Zealand, Hawaii and England

The tours are carefully planned by a small committee who take into consideration the interests of their members. Tours are leisurely, generally lasting about a week and with particular emphasis on both botanic and private gardens.
